At Scenic Subaru, we're proud to bring drivers throughout the Mount Airy area a selection the latest cars and SUVs from the world-renowned Subaru brand. Our collection of brand-new vehicles includes something for everyone, and each one delivers a quality and drivability unlike any you'll find elsewhere.
Take our perennially popular Subaru Outback, for example. A steadfast and true sight around the highways and byways of Westfield, NC and King, NC, the Outback is our iconic wagon-style SUV. It's spacious and well-equipped, but we know that other SUVs may be competing for your attention. To illustrate what makes Subaru craftsmanship best for your needs, we've compared our Outback side by side with the Lexus RX and we invite you to let us tell you more about both SUVs now.
Interior
The Subaru Outback is a recognizable vehicle, artfully combining the style of a versatile wagon with the adventure-ready utility of an SUV. It has an elevated ground clearance that makes it suitable for any road or weather condition, and its wagon-style exterior means its interior is cavernous and accommodating. In fact, thanks to its flexible interior, the Outback gets a far greater cargo capacity when compared to the competition, with space for up to 32.5 cubic feet, compared to 16 cubic feet in the Lexus RX.
Not only does the spacious interior of the Outback help you carry more cargo, but it's also more comfortable for you and your passengers. While both SUV seats five people in two rows, the Outback has more headroom throughout the cabin. Additionally, our Subaru model has more shoulder room for front seat comfort and nearly two inches more legroom for backseat passengers.
Engine and Performance
When it comes to personalizing your commutes and road trips, Subaru knows that drivers like choices. As such, the Subaru Outback is available in two great engine options, with which one you get depending on preference and trim choice. With the Lexus RX 350, however, just one engine is standard across the board, with no other options available to choose from.
More options for power, and the Subaru Outback also has a greater fuel efficiency and range than the Lexus RX 350, making it the better choice all around. While the base Subaru averages 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined, the base Lexus RX averages 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, with 23 mpg combined. Plus, the Outback gets around 611 miles on the highway on a full tank of gas, compared to 518 miles on the highway per fill up in the Lexus.
Last but not least, of course, the Outback has signature Subaru standard all-wheel drive, always a popular feature for our Elkin, NC customers. But the Lexus RX gets standard front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive listed only as an option.
Technology and Safety
Both SUVs receive a similar and nearly identical roster of standard features. But there are a few highlights and amenities that are unique to the Outback and that you won't find on the Lexus, including a cutting-edge dual-touchscreen infotainment system that comes standard and standard auto high beam control, neither of which standard Lexus.
Additionally, the Outback is always up for any adventure, especially with its newly added Wilderness trim option for model year 2022. This exciting option adds many off-road and adventure-ready features you won't find anywhere in the Lexus lineup, including a lifted suspension and an upgraded all-wheel drive system with a low-ratio setting.
