The 2022 Subaru Legacy runs with a 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine while the new 2022 Kia Sportage has an inline four. With the engines being somewhat alike, it's not surprising that the Subaru Legacy sedan generates 182 horsepower while the Kia Sportage produces almost the same number: 181 horsepower. Comparing the performance

While the engines are similar, the drivetrains are where the Subaru Legacy shines. The entry-level sound system in the 2022 Kia Sportage is a six-speaker stereo while the newest Subaru Legacy utilizes a four-speaker system. But once again, the 2022 Subaru Legacy outperforms Kia in higher trims. While both brands offer the luxury of available Harman/Kardon stereo at the upper levels, the best the latest Kia Sportage can provide is an eight-speaker system while the newest Subaru Legacy offers a 12-speaker Harman/Kardon system.
